If you know the story of Dawud (David), he was among the greatest rulers in human history.
Yet the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) highlighted something remarkable: Dawud used to eat from what he earned with his own hands.
The Quran does not only emphasize his political power. It also describes Allah's special favors to him: mountains and birds joining in tasbih, and iron being made pliable for him.
Allah taught him craftsmanship: "Make armor, and measure the links carefully." In other words, precise, skilled labor.
This was physically demanding, blue-collar work: heat, smoke, dust, and long hours.
The point is powerful: Allah dignified honest labor, and the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) dignified every halal profession.
Whether someone drives a taxi, stocks shelves, delivers food, cleans facilities, or works security, their work has honor in Islam when it is lawful and honest.
The Prophet taught that no food is better than what a person earns with their own hands.
